In 2013, I took a trip to Norfolk with my mum. Whilst we were there, we stumbled across this lighthouse in Happisburgh, and I don’t know why, but it absolutely took my breath away. At a time in my life where my anxiety was pretty debilitating and yet to be diagnosed, looking back at pictures of this lighthouse acted as a relief. I was overcome with the simple beauty of it, and the fact that it acts as a literal beacon of light and hope meant that, to this day, I am able to associate that picture with a sense of hope. It’s my lovely little lighthouse, and one day I will go back to this exact spot, think about how far I’ve come, and smile.
